Love What's In The Mirror

Posted by Jerra Mitchell on March 16, 2014 at 10:45 PM

In today's society, it is easy to measure our beauty based on what is epitomized through social media outlets. All too often, we are bombarded with images of strinkingly beautiful women who appear to be 100% flawless...perfect skin, a toned, curvaceous body, long, flowing hair, perfect white teeth,...the list goes on.

Some women are so consumed by another woman's outwardly beauty that they fail to realize that true beauty generates from WITHIN. A woman can be as beautiful as can be, but if she has an ugly heart and personality,...well, her looks go right down the drain.

As women, we should embrace who we are, and not compare ourselves to others. Learn to LOVE the image that stares back at you in the mirror, instead of despising it. Most importantly, beautify yourself from the inside. Begin thinking positive thoughts, speaking positive words, smiling more, and treating others kindly. A truly beautiful and wise woman knows that her words and thoughts have dominion over her life. If you think you are inadequate, then you are simply inadequate. On the other hand, if you KNOW you are valuable, then you are valuable.

A woman's outward appearance is just that...her outward appearance. We can be fooled because we're so focused on her appearance, that we often do not seek to discover where a woman's heart is. Therefore, please do not allow your eyes to deceive you.

Ladies, learn to love the person staring back at you in the mirror and realize that yo are unique, beautiful, and incomparable.

Until next time,
