I recently accepted a position at a local university to work in their Admissions department. This was a job that I'd been praying for for the past 2-3 years, and God finally answered my prayers. It was a drastic career change for me because I worked six years in the field of accounting...I held titles Accounts Payable and Payroll before I resigned due to a lack of fullfillment...and a multitude of other factors.
Most of those that learned about my new position were elated! They made me feel as if I hit the mega millions (lol). Those that are close to me knew that working in admissions was my MAIN career goal after I earned my Bachelor of Science degree. Some that weren't aware of my career endeavor would ask me, "How did I manage to do that?" or "You don't even have an education degree...and they still hired you to work in admissions?" That crabs in a barrel mentality...boy, I tell you!!
What they fail to realize is that by making sly comments and being negative, they're blocking their own blessings. I don't have time for the negativity...instead I choose to focus my attention on acheiving my goals and becoming the best person I can be. To those that congratulated me on my new position, I'd like to extend a sincere thank you...your words of encouragement really mean a lot to me.
Remember to be fearless in achieving your goals!! There's always someone watching you, waiting for you to stumble and fall...don't give them the satisfaction!!!
God bless you all.
Until next time,
